Drama in the
Desert is a full-color book and DVD. It's a compilation of images
and sounds collected over five years at Burning Man. It's a fully
sensory, audio-visual experience capturing what it feels like to
be at the event.

Words
and images in the book, and video and an original score on the DVD
all help illustrate how Burning Man is a state of mind. Participants
are truly free to express themselves and realize their dreams and
in so doing, it becomes a city of friendship and community, creativity
and opportunity. Through snapshots and snippets of sound, this book
documents those experiences that make Burning Man the unique humanity
festival it is.

Started in 1986
by Larry Harvey and Jerry James on a beach in San Francisco, Burning Man has grown
into a world-renowned art event which draws as many as 30,000 people to Black
Rock Desert near Gerlach in northern Nevada every Labor Day weekend. Founded on
the principles of participation and no observation, gift-giving and no commerce,
and "Leave No Trace" respect for the environment, a temporary city emerges like
Brigadoon a place that is idyllic, unaffected by time and remote from reality.
